Trevor owns a local dentist surgery in Harbord and has done for over 24 years. Married to Vicki, he has 3 children, Emma, Adam and Ellie, and has worked and lived in Harbord his whole life. Trevor has been with Harbord Financial Services Limited since the inception of the bank in 2002.

JOHN VACCARO - Vice Chairman


John Vaccaro joined Harbord Financial Services Limited Board in 2007, a key member of the Marketing sub-committee and a licensed Real Estate professional with 28 years industry experience.

Employed at L J Hooker Freshwater, John has been a local resident of Freshwater for the last 37 years. John is a Justice of the Peace and is actively involved and passionate about his local community. A past president of the P & F and a School Board member for St John the Baptist School Freshwater, he has also served as Vice-Chairman for the Real Estate Institute of NSW Pittwater Division, which included sitting on the disciplinary and ethics committee for the Division during that time.

John also represents the NSW/ACT Community Bank® network as an elected member of the Community Bank Strategic Advisory Board.



Ian contributes his extensive business consulting and legal skills to Harbord Financial Services Limited. Married to Michelle with 2 children, Ian has been an active member of Freshwater for many years. He is passionate about Freshwater Community Bank® Branch of Bendigo Bank and its contribution to the community.

DAVID IRVINE - Treasurer


David is a chartered accountant by professional qualification with over 35 years of business experience and during the past 15 years held the role of Chief Financial Officer in a number of publicly listed Australian companies.

David is married to Janiece with 2 daughters, Leanne and Susan, and has lived in Curl Curl for the past 7 years. Both daughters are active members of the North Curl Curl SLSC and are volunteer lifesavers.

David was appointed as an Ambassador of Harbord Financial Services Limited during 2013.



As proprietor of Brooks Pharmacy in Freshwater, which has been trading for 20 years, Martin has been a Director of the Freshwater Community Bank® Branch since its inception. He is married with 3 children.



Noela has lived in Harbord for over 42 years and assisted in the family electrical business during this time she has been married to Richard for 42 years and has 2 sons, Adam and Craig.

Noela has an Economics Degree from Sydney University and has worked in the accounting industry, and has a variety of sporting interests in the local area.

Noela makes a valuable contribution to the Board, especially providing a woman’s perspective as well as her community knowledge.

Noela is involved with our Future Leaders Program and as a mentor with our Youth Observer Program and has been a Director of Harbord Financial Services since 2007.



As a former GM of Sales, National Sales Director and National Sales and Marketing Manager in IT, Telco and Publishing with top Multi National organisations, Denise has had a varied career in the Australian corporate market. Leveraging on this experience, Denise founded SESI Group, a successful Executive Search business focusing on the corporate sector sourcing senior sales and marketing talent for her clients in IT, Manufacturing and Publishing.

Emigrating from the US, Denise has been a long term resident of Freshwater for the past 20 years. An active community member, she serves as Treasurer for Friends of Freshwater and was selected to participate in the Harbord Diggers Development Community Consultation Group.

Denise and her husband Robert run businesses from Freshwater. Their son, Rory, is active in sports in the community with Manly Seasiders baseball and Harbord Harlequins.



Peter Harley has had a long career in senior management. Prior to his retirement in 2008, he was Executive Director of Australia’s major safety testing authority, TestSafe Australia, and a Director of Workplace Health and Safety at the WorkCover Authority of NSW. He is a graduate in Commerce from UNSW and maintains his links with the University as a Director of International House Ltd. He has also taught Industrial Relations at University of Sydney on a part-time and casual basis for the last 30 years.

Like his parents before him, Peter resides in Freshwater with his family and is active in the local community as the current President of Friends of Freshwater Inc.

TONY BEVAN - Director


Tony Bevan has had a long career in the banking sector having had extensive experience with small business and consumer lending together with building of strong customer relationships with his clients.

Following retirement from Banking in December 2010, Tony undertook study for bookkeeping and is now a qualified bookkeeper, with local businesses as clients. His banking experience provides support and advice to small businesses for financial and banking requirements. Tony has also has completed a Certificate of Accounting.

Tony has lived on the Northern Beaches over 30 years and is well known in local financial circles.


With a career in the financial services industry spanning thirty years, Julie has built and run her own business for over 12 years and prior held senior executive positions for leading Australian and global investment managers.

In 1998, Julie founded her own company which developed and successfully conducted the “Best of Breed Global Investment & Research Program” and the Australian “Adviser Big Day Out”. The success of the business compounded year on year as the programs grew in demand and popularity amongst investment managers, research houses, institutional advice groups and financial planners.

In 2008 Julie initiated the sale process for the business that resulted the company being absorbed into an industry media group.

At the commencement of 2008 Julie established a new consulting company Freshwater Financial Marketing Pty Ltd that has been focused on providing investment managers in Australia and off shore with a range of customised marketing, distribution and business strategy solutions.

Throughout the past 30 years Julie has had the pleasure to design & conduct many investment & global research programs to countries including the UK, USA, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Southern China, Vietnam, Japan, Burma, India, Scotland, Italy, Switzerland, Belgium & Netherlands and the Czech Republic.  As a result of these successful programs there are several written testimonials that support her dedication and success. Julie was appointed from an Ambassador to a Director July 2016

SIMMONE LINAY - Executive Assistant


Married to Kim for 27 years, Simmone has three daughters Cassandra, Brianna and Tiffany, and has lived on the Northern Beaches all her life. Simmone is a life member of Beacon Hill Youth Club Netball, played with Warringah Softball Club, and more recently coaches Peninsula Netball.

When not working, Simmone loves sewing and making crafts and loves, cooking and entertaining. Working on and off in the banking industry for approximately 20 years, Simmone has focussed on bookkeeping for the last 15 years and also manages the Shares Registry on behalf of Harbord Financial Services Limited.
